Zero Waste Advocates Support Mandatory Labeling of GMOs

IT'S OUR RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT'S IN OUR FOOD.  Zero Waste advocates from Buklod Tao and the EcoWaste Coalition join hands with campaigners for the compulsory labeling of food and agricultural products containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs) at a peaceful assembly held outside the House of Representatives.  The event coincides with the filing of a GMO labeling bill by Ang NARS Partylist Representative Leah Primitiva Samaco-Paquiz.  Organized by the Consumer Rights for Safe Food and Green Convergence for Safe Food, Healthy Environment and Sustainable Economy, the event drew participants from Buklod Tao, EcoWaste Coalition, Miriam Environmental Studies Institute, Institutional Network for Social Action, NASSA, Partnership for Clean Air, Philippine Misereor Partnership, Sarilaya, SEARICE, SIBAT and Miriam College students and partners.
